Okay! My son is now walking and my last post was when he turned one. I am quite happy that my son is now toddling. For a while, I was a bit worried because it was taking a while but as soon as he started walking, there was no stopping him. Life became harder as my munchkin became a handful.

Preparing for my baby's first birthday!!!
I can't believe that my baby is almost turning 1. A month and a half to go until he reaches this wonderful milestone. Luckily, staying home is a plus because planning a first birthday party is not as easy as we all think it is. There's a program involved, chairs, tables, table center-pieces, food, attire, invitations, visitors, etc., etc.
The only thing we all have in mind is the theme,"Sesame Street Beginnings". Yes, my son loves Elmo. He can't stand red Santa but he sure can stand red Elmo.
While planning this party I'm also in the midst of finding a job.
The party theme is so far the clearest thing we've got. I probably will update the blog once things are on the go.

What Keeps me Busy!
Since I am now a SAHM. I've decided to join a playgroup for my son, William. I've also relocated so I totally don't know anyone in this town. I must say that the neighborhood is safe, family-oriented, and peaceful. To my surprise, this playgroup is so much fun. I think William is not getting much enjoyment from it than I am but it's an added activity to my things-to-do list that keeps me busy.
My typical playdate is usually done mid-week and starts at 11:00. The host usually serves lunch while we bring food for our little ones. What do we do? We, mommies, chat and talk about anything under the sun. We usually talk about the development of our babies...who's fat, who's just right, who's not growing right, we talk about what they can do, what they can't do, what they drink, what they eat, etc. Then we talk about losing weight, going to the "glorified" gym, and TV shows. Why do I say "glorified" gym? Because there's this gym that's state of the art (so they say) where I feel every mother, father, or everyone in this community go to and that if you're not in it there's something wrong with you. Right...I'm not in it for certain reasons.
I am quite lucky that the playgroup I've joined happens to have 4 babies who are 6 months of age and the rest fall below that age group or are siblings of these babies.
After being in a small town for years I am thankful that I am given a chance to meet other mothers who are in different fields. I say this because I used to be surrounded by teachers. Most of the mothers in my playgroup are actually wives of people working in Continental, wives of hubbies in oil, and wives of hubbies in finance. Take note, they are not snobs. This is definitely a change.
A typical playdate ends at around 1:00 PM. I head up and do my errands with William and then go home. The playdate ends and here we are, looking forward to the next.

Half a year old
Wow! I can't believe that my son is half a year old. How time flies. I can't even imagine that six months has gone by that quick.
I am now a SAHM and I'm loving every minute of it. I am able to see the development and milestones of my son every single day. Also, I have become a worry-wart and a panic merchant if I notice something odd with my baby. Well, who doesn't?
I still haven't mentioned though that my parents played a huge part of William's first four months. They were with me the entire time and I am as thankful and grateful as you can imagine. Sometimes I wonder how other mothers without help manage it. I now admire and respect mothers in a whole new level.
William's personality is showing by the day. He's a happy baby and an active one too. One minute you see him beside you. The next minute you see him crawling towards the television to pull a few things. I love watching this because I know that his gross-motor skills are well-developed. Play time with him is so much fun.
Eating! Hah! My son is so Filipino! He loves rice. He would rather eat rice than fruit. I've introduced carrots, peas, sweetpotato, banana, and pears and he loved the peas. That's a good start.
He had his shots last Friday and his 6 month visit to the pediatrician. Doctor says, he's doing good. That's all I wanted to hear.
Welcome WILLIAM ISAAC!!!
My life suddenly changed 360 degrees. I am now a mother. Nine months of carrying him is all worth it. I am so ready to face every challenge motherhood has to offer. All I'm wishing for now is that I become a good and nurturing mom to my son.
Welcome William Isaac. Mommy loves you very much and I can't wait to spend every single day with you.

The Day!
The day has arrived. It was March 6, 2009 and Alan and myself started to go to Big Bend Regional as early as 6:00 AM. We decided to stay overnight instead of driving an hour and a half from Presidio.
I was scared and at the same time so excited because I'd be meeting my son on this day. For the past few days though, it seemed like he was also ready to meet me because he just kept punching, kicking, and moving.
My favorite nurse, Sheila, welcomed me and put me in the room. I loved that room because of its interior and view from the outside ( mountains). Again, the usual routine of checking my BP, the baby's heartbeat, my urine, my blood, etc.
They basically started inducing me at around 8:00 in the morning. Sad part, I fell asleep.
At around 12 noon, I was completely dilated which was 10cm. I think my nurse was impressed that I dilated fast and in a few minutes, the doctor broke my water and I was ready to have William.
Damn, it was getting more painful by the second and the anesthesiologist was taking so long. I remember banging my head on Alan's hand. She came, gave me the prick. I was numb.
Push, push, push, and more push. At 3:47 my life immediately changed. My angel was born, my life, my little one, my little lion...William Isaac.
I am now a MOM!
I'm back!
Hi there folks! I'm back after 6 or more months. Well, it's been one big journey for me since I gave birth that I completely stopped blogging. I am now 100% hands-on with my cute little son, William Isaac.
As a recap, I was on my 38th week when Dr. Billings told me that he was going out of town and that he could either induce me or would just refer me to another doctor. Of course I automatically was in panic-mode because the much-awaited time has come and it had to be done ASAP.
I was a nervous wreck but Alan was there to support me so this is what I chose, I'd be induced on a Friday, March 6, 2009. So, we'll see how it goes.
I'm so ready to meet the little man.
